Behavioral Therapist Responsibilities
- Assess client needs and build customized solutions for behavior issues while establishing individual targets and goals
- Develop treatment plans based on the patient’s values, goals, and health using comments from the patient’s treatment team and support system
- Utilize evidence-based methods to provide group and individual treatment to patients and families
- Prepare patient documentation and communicate pertinent clinical information to the patient, referring provider, and treatment team
- Conduct phone wellness checks on a regular basis to enquire about behavioral health and medication compliance from patients
Behavioral Therapist Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and a bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, or equivalent
- Current and unrestricted state license as an LCSW (licensed clinical social worker) or equivalent
- A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a clinical setting working in behavioral health
- CPR and BLS (Basic Life Support) certifications are required
- Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and great communication and interpersonal skills
